Born in Kobe in 1957. Graduated from Osaka University’s Department of Architectural Engineering in 1979. Joined the Tadao Ando Architectural Institute, established ARX KOBE in 1993. Part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Literature and Art, Kinki University; Director of the Hyogo Association for Limb-Disabled Children; Part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Engineering, Kansai University; Director of the NPO Eco Design Network; Director of the NPO People, House, and Town Safety Support Organization, Director of the NPO Kamigata Rakugo Support Association.

Dan Luffey（ダン・ルフィ）プロフィール
Born in 1987 in Pennsylvania. Graduated from University of California Santa Barbara, also studied at Kyoto University and received a master’s in film studies from Kyoto University of Art and Design. Has studied Japanese history and culture since his teens, and produced an English translation of Shiba Ryotaro’s “Moe Yo Ken” for his undergraduate thesis. Currently works in Japan under a Humanities visa as freelance translator. Also produced English translations for the following books: The Fiend with Twenty Faces (Kurodahan Press), Manga Poverty (Manga Reborn), and Dear Ambivalence (Atelier Third).
1987年、アメリカ合衆国ペンシルべニア州生まれ。
カリフォルニア大学卒業。京都大学留学。京都芸術大学の映画研究専門修士課程卒業。10代のころから日本の歴史や文化、文学に興味を示し大学で日本語を専攻し、京大の卒業論文として、司馬遼太郎の「燃えよ剣」の英訳。人文知識・国際業務の就労ビサを取得。その後、京都造形芸術大学院の修士課程をで修了。現在、フリーランス翻訳家。著書(英訳書)に「The Fiend with Twenty Faces」（怪人二十面相／江戸川乱歩作／Kurodahan Press出版）「Manga Poverty」（漫画貧乏／佐藤秀峰作／Manga Reborn出版）「Dear Ambivalence」（ディア・アンビバレンス／末弘秀孝作／アトリエサード出版）がある。
